A motif exposed at the beginning of the piece forms the common thread for the following course, within which different variations of this basic theme develop. In a quasi-symphonic manner, the initial material is placed in different harmonic contexts and juxtaposed with similar or contrasting material in the form of interpolations. The spectral and modal harmonies that dominate the extended chordal fields of the piece, designed as textures, are repeatedly coloured by microtonal movements and alienated in their effect.
